Why this stainless lid chest freezer earns its place
The EL71SS is a solid-lid chest freezer for bulk frozen storage in back-of-house. It offers 564 litres of net storage from a 691-litre gross capacity, under a solid lid with a stainless top and a white body, so it stacks up for stockpiling frozen product where you need volume rather than glass-lid display.
It holds a frozen band of −23 to −16 °C, set on a mechanical controller, with manual defrost — so build a periodic defrost into the cleaning routine. It is rated energy class D with an EEI of 43.9, running on R600a refrigerant with a 115 g charge. Input power is 186 W; on a verified 1168 kWh a year that works out to about £292 a year at 25p/kWh.
The cabinet measures 1686 × 576 × 741 mm internally and ships packed at 1860 × 800 × 940 mm (W×D×H), so check doorways and access routes against the packed size on delivery. It weighs 85 kg net, 89 kg gross, and runs from a standard 13 A, 220–240 V / 50 Hz supply — no special electrical work needed.
