Why this solid lid chest freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD GM600 is a solid-lid chest freezer built for bulk frozen storage in a working kitchen. With 567 litres gross and 557 litres net behind an insulated white lid, it takes the overflow an upright freezer cannot hold — whole joints, catering packs, batch-cooked stock and long-hold frozen goods — and keeps it clear of the daily service line.
It holds a frozen band of -24 to -14 °C using static cooling and a mechanical controller, so the setting is simple and there is no electronic panel to fault. Defrost is manual, planned into a quiet period rather than triggered automatically. Running noise sits at 42 dB, and at 379.6 kWh a year that works out at about £95 a year at 25p/kWh. It carries energy class F and climate class 4, so it holds temperature in warmer back-of-house ambients.
External dimensions are 1804 × 700 × 945 mm, so plan the run and check doorway widths before delivery — at 119 kg it is a two-person position. It runs from a standard 13 A supply at 220–240 V, drawing 250 W, and cools with R600a hydrocarbon refrigerant on a 105 g charge. Usable internal space measures 1680 × 480 × 725 mm.
