Why this fridge room earns its place
The Polar U-Series DS486-CBN is a 1.8 x 2.1m integral walk-in cold room: a fixed, walk-in cold store built to hold chilled back-of-house stock. It gives a kitchen one dedicated room to walk into and load, rather than splitting chilled product across separate upright cabinets, with 6490 litres of gross volume and listed internal dimensions of 2037 x 1580 x 1880 mm.
The chilled operating band is +2 to +5 °C, supported by fan-assisted cooling and an R449A refrigerant charge. Being integral, the refrigeration is built onto the room as a single self-contained unit, so there is no remote condenser to site elsewhere in the building. The manufacturer description states the room is designed to work in 43 °C ambient conditions and includes an internal light and 13amp plug.
The build uses galvanised steel, aluminium and plastic with 80 mm insulation, one hinged door and a brown exterior finish. Plan the 1.8 x 2.1m floor plan, 435 kg gross weight, door swing, 230V supply and working clearance into the layout before ordering. It is supplied with two years parts and labour warranty, with the source text also noting a five-year panel guarantee, and Craven Cooling can handle delivery, build and servicing.
