Why this walk-in freezer earns its place
The Tefcold CRNF1821 is a walk-in freezer room supplied as one package — insulated panels, monoblock cooling and electronic control — giving roughly 1560 × 1860 mm of floor and 1960 mm of height of frozen storage in a single cold store. Holding -20 to -10 °C, it takes bulk frozen deliveries, batch-prepped stock and long-hold ingredients off scattered chest and upright freezers and into one walk-in room staff can move through.
It runs on R290 refrigerant with a 150 g charge and clears ice automatically by hot gas, so no manual defrost cycle interrupts the freeze. The electronic controller holds the low setpoint and the plant draws 1510 W in use. Rated at 60 dB, it belongs back of house; the white internal lining wipes down for hygiene checks, and the automatic defrost keeps evaporator performance steady during heavy door traffic.
The room assembles on site from flat panels, with a single hinged solid door giving a 700 mm wide by 1765 mm high opening for trolleys and stock. Built up it weighs 615 kg net (655 kg gross), so a level, load-bearing floor is essential. It runs from a 13 A supply on 220–240 V; continuous running works out at about £2466 a year at 25p/kWh.
