Why this walk-in freezer earns its place
The Tefcold CRNF1518 is a compact walk-in freezer room for kitchens and food businesses that have outgrown upright freezers but do not need a large cold room. It arrives as a modular system with the refrigeration built in, giving 1260 × 1560 × 1960 mm of internal space to hold frozen meat, fish, catering packs and prepped batches in one accessible place. It suits back-of-house operations that need consistent bulk frozen storage.
In use it holds -20 to -10 °C for long-term frozen storage. Defrost is automatic and uses hot gas, clearing ice without manual intervention or a break in the cold chain, and an electronic controller manages the temperature. The system runs on R290, a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with low environmental impact, and operating noise is rated at 60 dB. At the rated energy use, electricity works out at about £2052 a year at 25p/kWh.
Internally the room measures 1260 × 1560 × 1960 mm (W×D×H), and the single hinged solid door gives a 700 mm wide by 1765 mm high clear opening for loading. It runs from a 13A supply at 220-240V/50Hz and draws 1100W, with a 150g R290 charge — no three-phase connection needed. Gross weight is 345 kg (315 kg net), so delivery access and siting are worth checking before install.
