Why this freezer room earns its place
The Polar U-Series DS489-FBN is a brown integral walk-in freezer room with 7,677 litres of capacity in a 2.1 x 2.1m footprint. It gives back-of-house a single frozen store to walk into and work from at –15 to –18 °C, keeping bulk frozen stock in one place on shelves and trolleys instead of across a row of cabinets. Inside it's 2.04m x 1.88m, with full-height access for loading and rotation.
Day to day it runs as walk-in frozen holding: product goes in on shelving, stays organised by line and stock level, and stays reachable through service without opening a bank of cabinet doors. The 80mm-thick insulated panels maintain temperature while one room makes rotation, picking and stock checks simpler. It works in ambient temperatures up to 43 °C.
As an integral room, the refrigeration is built into the unit (R449A, 230V, 1800W) rather than run from separate remote plant, so it installs as a self-contained cold room at 450 kg. Panel assembly, doorway access, siting and drainage are all worth planning before delivery. It comes with a 2-year parts and labour warranty plus a 5-year panel guarantee.
