Why this freezer room earns its place
The DS480-FBN is the freezer version of Polar's compact U-Series walk-in room, built for kitchens that need proper frozen bulk storage without giving up a full storeroom. It works to a 1200 x 1500 mm footprint, stands 2200 mm high and gives 2843 litres of gross volume, so frozen deliveries, batch prep and longer-held stock can live in one organised room instead of being split across several cabinets.
Inside, the usable space is listed at 2037 x 980 x 1280 mm, with one hinged door and fan-assisted cooling holding the room between -15 and -18 °C. The 80 mm insulated panels are made from galvanised steel, aluminium and plastic, and the manufacturer states that the integral walk-in room is designed to work in 43°C conditions, with an internal light and 13 amp plug.
Because the refrigeration is integral, there is no separate remote plant to site elsewhere. Plan the route and final position around a 350 kg room, a 230V supply, the 1800 W rated input and the R449A refrigerant charge, and allow service access around the pack. Warranty cover is two years parts and labour, with the manufacturer also stating a five-year panel guarantee.
