Why this display fridge earns its place
The CW197 is Polar's G-Series upright display fridge — a single-door, glass-fronted cabinet made to put chilled stock in front of the customer rather than tucked away in back-of-house storage. It suits self-service and grab-and-go merchandising, where drinks, packaged food or prepared items need to be seen, reached and selected without a member of staff opening a door. The full-height glass front turns the cabinet itself into the display, and the stainless-steel cabinet carries a professional finish suitable for front-of-house placement. At 2010 mm tall and 680 mm wide, it holds 600 litres of gross capacity (376 litres net) across three shelves.
As a glass-door reach-in, it holds product on show while the door keeps warm room air out between grabs. The cabinet runs at +2 to +8 °C with fan-assist and static cooling to handle both chilled display and prepared items, using R600a refrigerant in a stainless-steel body with 60 mm of insulation. It draws just 300 W on a 230V supply and carries an Energy Class B rating (755 kWh per year). For catering environments, the cabinet can be fitted with gastronorm pan rails to hold up to ten 2/1 GN pans at 100 mm depth.
It is a freestanding upright cabinet designed to stand in a customer-facing aisle or serving area rather than being built into a counter run. At 135 kg and backed by a 2-year parts-and-labour warranty, it is built for everyday commercial use in kitchens, delis, takeaways and retail.
