Why this display fridge earns its place
The GE580 is Polar's G-Series upright display cooler — a double glass-door merchandiser with a lit light box header across the top. It is built to sell chilled stock, not just hold it: two full-height glass doors put drinks, grab-and-go food and bottled lines on show, and the illuminated header carries branding or pricing above the display to pull the eye in a shop or servery. At nearly 950 litres of display capacity across eight shelves, it holds enough for a busy fixture without cluttering the customer view.
Behind the glass it is a working commercial cooler running on R290 refrigerant—an eco-friendly low-impact refrigerant. The cabinet operates between +2 and +6 °C and works as a forced-air cooler, so temperature stays consistent across all eight shelves from top to bottom. Its energy class B rating means it runs efficiently; at just under 1,500 kWh a year, the running cost is predictable and reasonable for a cabinet of this size and duty. The operating temperature band, shelving, capacity and full energy data are listed in the spec table on this page so you can match it to the stock you intend to display.
As a floor-standing double-door cabinet 2036 mm tall, 1200 mm wide and 730 mm deep, its footprint and door swing matter for the run it goes into. At 177 kg, it needs clear access and more than one person to move into place. Use the dimensions in the spec table to plan the space and access around it. The unit draws 500 W of input power, so check the electrical supply where it will stand. The warranty terms are given in the spec table as well. If you want the fit confirmed against your floor plan, our team can talk it through first.
