Why this drop-in display fridge earns its place
The Drop-In Refrigerated Unit 5/1 is a built-in refrigerated well designed to be recessed into a counter, buffet or servery top. It is not a standalone cabinet — it turns a fabricated counter into a chilled display, sized around gastronorm pans so prepared dishes, salads and cold lines can be presented in a permanent servery. At 1765 mm wide, 610 mm deep and 632 mm tall, it accommodates a full 5/1 gastronorm layout, suiting operators building a fixed counter rather than moving displays around the room.
In use it keeps gastronorm pans of prepared food chilled at +0 to +8 °C from the counter surface through service, holding presentation stock cold while it is on show and within reach across the servery. It uses static cooling, so the air settles naturally across the well without fan noise — ideal for front-of-house serveries where quiet is valued. The unit weighs 80 kg and runs on 230V single phase at 50 Hz, drawing 385 W. Sitting flush in the counter, it keeps the food at the working height of the servery line.
As a drop-in unit it is installed into an aperture cut in the counter and wired in, rather than plugged in and stood on the floor. Your counter has to be built or cut to receive it — the aperture must be 1765 mm wide, 610 mm deep and 632 mm tall to sit flush — so pass these external dimensions and the electrical requirements to your fabricator or installer before any joinery begins.
