Why this beer fridge earns its place
The GE998 is a double-door back bar cooler from Polar's G-Series, set up for behind-the-bar chilled storage rather than open display. It holds 198 litres across four adjustable shelves, with solid doors keeping stock out of sight and shielded from the room, so it works as the cold hold that feeds a busy service — beers, mixers and canned stock kept ready to pour without cluttering the front of house.
This is holding storage, not a display cabinet: staff restock it between services and pull from it during them, keeping the bar top clear. Two solid doors give access to the working stock, and it sits in the bar line as a double-door unit within a run of under- or back-bar equipment. The unit measures 900mm wide, 850mm high and 520mm deep, weighing 62kg, and runs on R600a natural refrigerant with fan-assisted cooling to hold +2–8°C. Energy class A makes the GE998 efficient to run on 230V mains (230W rated), keeping your running costs down through a busy trading week.
Plan the install around a double-door footprint in the back-bar run, allowing clearance for both door swings and for airflow around the cabinet. The exact external dimensions, weight, refrigerant and electrical supply are listed in the spec table, so you can check the gap and the socket before it arrives.
