Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The Tefcold NIC402SCEB is a display chest freezer for ice cream, finished in white with a sliding lid so customers can see and reach the tubs from the top. With 388 litres gross and 298 litres net capacity it holds a solid range of impulse and scooping stock, which is why the sliding-lid format works on ice cream parlours, seaside kiosks and forecourt convenience counters where the freezer sits out front and does the selling.
It runs at a display temperature band of -24 to -14 °C and holds it with a mechanical controller and manual defrost, so the routine is a straightforward periodic defrost rather than an automatic cycle. It is rated at 45 dB for noise, which suits a customer-facing spot, and carries an energy class of D — about 849.7 kWh a year, or roughly £212 a year at 25p/kWh. It is built for climate class 5, so it is rated to perform in warm ambient conditions.
The freezer draws from a standard 13-amp supply, so your installer can confirm socket position against where it will stand. It uses natural R290 refrigerant with a 105 g charge, a low-GWP hydrocarbon. Check the external dimensions in the specification panel against your doorways and floor space before ordering, and our team can confirm fit and requirements against your site if you would like.
