Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The Tefcold IC502SC is a display chest ice cream freezer built to hold frozen tubs and pre-packed lines at the point of sale. It carries 491 litres gross and 430 litres net inside a white cabinet with white painted steel interior, keeping stock cold and to hand where customers can reach it.
In use it holds -24 to -14 °C using static cooling and a mechanical controller, with a manual defrost routine to clear ice build-up. It runs at 45 dB, which keeps it unobtrusive on a counter or shop floor, and it is rated energy class D with an energy efficiency index of 45.1 %. At its measured 1025.3 kWh a year, that works out at about £256 a year at 25p/kWh.
The internal space measures 1430 × 510 × 655 mm (W×D×H), and the cabinet draws 350 W on a 220-240 V/50 Hz supply. Cooling is handled by natural R290 refrigerant with a 110 g charge. Gross weight is 90 kg and net weight 72 kg.
