Why this display freezer earns its place
The GM498 is a Polar G-Series display chest freezer — a merchandising freezer built to show frozen stock rather than just store it. It suits impulse frozen lines such as ice cream, frozen snacks and ready-to-grab packs, where customers reach in and self-select from the top. At 200 litres capacity in a 920 mm height and 953 mm width frame, it is more compact than the larger GM499 while still offering substantial display area.
It runs at freezer temperatures for frozen retail stock and is rated energy class C on the EU scale, consuming 746 kWh per year and drawing 200 W at rated input. The cabinet operates at 42 dB(A), quiet enough for retail spaces. The refrigeration uses R600a with a very low GWP of 3. Full specs including operating band, refrigerant and noise are on the specification table on this page.
As a chest format it needs clear access across the top for loading and browsing, plus space to work around it. It weighs 42 kg and sits on castors for repositioning. Check the external dimensions and electrical supply in the specification table before install, so it fits the spot and the circuit you have.
