Why this food to go earns its place
The FA926 is a 12 oz board soup container from Lockhart's Food To Go range, supplied with a heavy-duty lid, 250 to a case. It is built for the job board finds hardest: hot liquid, held for as long as it takes someone to walk back to a desk with it. The double lining and the PE coating are what make that work — the coating stops the soup wetting the board through, and the second wall keeps the outside cool enough to hold without the customer swapping hands. Plain single-wall board does neither, which is why a soup cup is a different item from a cold cup of the same size.
Heavy duty runs through the lid as well, and that matters more on soup than on anything else on a counter. A lid that pops on the way out of the door costs a portion, a refund and a clean-up, so the rim on a soup cup is engineered to be harder to seat and harder to lose. The white exterior gives a plain surface for a contents or date label, which is how most kitchens handle a soup run when two or three lines are going out at once and only the label separates them. At 250 to a case it is a working quantity for a counter selling soup daily through a winter season.
