Why this tray earns its place
The VALO serving tray is understated and purposeful. At 600 × 400 mm, it's large enough to carry a full plate plus additional courses or accompaniments without looking cramped, yet compact enough to navigate through a bustling dining room. At just 30 mm deep, it sits flat and light in the hand — the whole tray weighs only 1.58 kg, so service staff move it easily without dropping or fumbling.
Crafted from solid oak, the tray has the warmth that guests notice. Unlike melamine or stainless steel, wood announces intent — this is considered hospitality, not assembly-line clearing. The water-repellent oil finish protects the grain from splashes and staining during service. Minor moisture and spills don't mark the surface; they bead and wipe away. Over months and years, the finish develops patina; many venues see this as character rather than damage.
The recessed section underneath is the engineering detail that matters. It slides over the matching VALO tray stand (see code JD128), gripping securely so the tray doesn't shift as you navigate stairs, thresholds, or a crowded dining room. Room-service and tableside-service operations depend on that stability — fumbling with a tray mid-service feels unprofessional and risks spillage. The recessed design solves that silently.
