Why this chip scoopbpa-free product earns its place
Portion consistency matters. When you're selling portions of chips—whether as a side or a main—the size your customer expects is the size you deliver. A generous handful works at the start of service but costs money by the end. A tight handful leaves customers feeling short-changed. The Matfer Bourgeat chip scoop standardises the portion without thinking.
At 360 mm long with an ergonomic handle shape, it's designed to scoop from a chip warmer or deep frying basket and deposit a measured portion directly onto paper, into a container, or onto a plate. The scoop size itself is engineered around a standard chip portion. That's the work it does: removes the variable from portioning.
The construction is Exoglass, a composite material that resists the heat, salt, and constant moisture of a busy frying station. It won't warp, crack, or become brittle over time. When you're running 200 portions of chips a night, durability isn't a luxury—it's the difference between one scoop lasting six months and lasting two years.
