Why this mixing spoon earns its place
Length is what this spoon is for. At 28 cm it reaches the bottom of a tall glass, a jug or a deep container without a hand going in over the rim, and that changes how the job is done: a stirring spoon turns the contents rather than lifting them, and a long shaft lets you do that from the wrist instead of the shoulder. The rubber end caps the top of the shaft, so your hand sits against rubber rather than a cut metal edge through a long stir, and the spoon does not ring against a stainless counter when it goes down mid-service.
Stainless steel is the material for a tool that spends its day in citrus, sugar and acid. It holds no taste and no smell, it does not stain or corrode the way plated and coated tools eventually do, and it cleans back to a bright finish — which matters when the tool is being used in front of a guest at the bar or the pass rather than out of sight.
