Why this wooden chopping board earns its place
This is a proper prep board, built with slatted wood that lets you work fast. The slats aren't just about grip — they hold your knife and keep whatever you're cutting from sliding around while you work. Onions, vegetables, bread, herbs: the texture gives you control, and the anti-slip feet keep the whole board steady on your counter, whether your surface is wet or you're moving quickly through a lunch service.
The breadcrumb shelf along one edge is a small detail with real purpose. Crumbs, trimmings and scraps fall naturally into it, keeping your main working surface clear. It means less stopping to brush away debris, more continuous work. At 20 mm thick, the board is substantial enough to take a proper knife without flex or movement, but not so heavy it's difficult to move when you need to clean underneath or switch tasks.
Gastronorm sizing (530 × 325 mm) means it fits standard catering trays and prep tables. It's big enough for serious knife work but narrow enough that you're not overextending during a shift. The wood develops character with use — slight darkening and marks become part of the board's story and functionality.
