THE WORKING VIEW

Why this ice crusher earns its place

Manual ice crushers have one job and do it well: turn ice cubes into crushed ice without needing a power socket or waiting for a blender. The Beaumont is built for bar and restaurant work where speed and reliability matter. At 268mm high and 1.1kg, it's compact enough to sit on a bar surface or in a prep station, and the chrome-effect stainless steel finish looks professional and cleans easily.

The mechanism is simple and durable: drop ice into the hopper, pull down the handle repeatedly, and crushed ice emerges at the bottom. Manual operation means no noise complaints from the bar floor, no lead-time waiting for machine defrost cycles, and no power failures at a busy service. For venues that need crushed ice regularly but don't want the footprint or cost of an electric crusher, this is the right tool.

It's built to work shift after shift: stainless steel resists corrosion from water and the constant wet-dry cycle of bar work, and the straightforward mechanism has fewer parts to jam or break. The chrome finish and compact footprint also make it a piece that looks intentional on the back bar rather than hidden away in a store cupboard.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

There's no hard limit—you can crush as much as you feed it. Throughput depends on your handle speed. For high-volume service, expect to crush a bucket every 5–10 minutes with steady work; it's not a replacement for a dedicated electric hopper.

Very little. Empty it fully after each shift, rinse the hopper and exit chute, and wipe the chrome finish dry. Check the handle mechanism for ice shards or debris monthly. Store dry to avoid water spotting on stainless steel.

Use it immediately. Fresh crushed ice is at its best right out of the crusher—it's colder and holds its structure better than ice that's been sitting in a bin for an hour.

Standard ice cubes work perfectly. Extra-large cubes or commercial block ice will require more effort and may not crush evenly. For best results, use regular domestic or commercial ice cubes.

It's rare, but if a cube gets wedged, stop immediately and tip the hopper slightly to dislodge it. Never force the handle—you'll damage the mechanism. Once dislodged, give it a flush with water and try again.

Chrome stainless steel is durable, but it will show marks if handled roughly. Daily rinsing and drying keeps it looking smart. Minor scuffs are cosmetic and don't affect function.
