Why this chiller plate earns its place
The Camchiller is a simple, specific piece of kit: a cold plate designed to sit at the top of a food carrier and help keep food cold for longer. Cambro states that it is designed to extend the cold holding time of your food, so it is aimed squarely at transport and holding rather than display.
Its 1/2 GN format makes it easy to work into a carrier setup, and the 265 x 325 x 31 mm size keeps the profile low. Made from polyethylene and finished in Glacier Blue, it is a lightweight plate at 1.75 kg gross weight, but still a proper commercial accessory rather than a disposable add-on.
The operating routine is straightforward too: freeze it flat overnight, then place it at the top of the carrier when you need it in service. It is dishwasher safe and freezer safe, so cleaning and reuse are both built into the product.
