This 10cm lid is part of De Buyer's Inocuivre range and is made for copper cookware where a close-fitting cover matters. At 100 mm across and 12 mm high, it keeps the profile compact and the fit precise.
De Buyer says the lid is made from 90% copper and 10% stainless steel, with a brass handle for a classic finish. That copper build is there for control: it helps you manage the cooking process more carefully and makes better use of the heat already in the pan.
It is a specialist piece rather than a general-purpose cover. It is not dishwasher safe and not freezer safe, so it belongs in the kitchen with the rest of the cooking kit rather than in the storage cupboard.
