Why this wine glasse earns its place
Red wine glasses need to do one fundamental job: give the wine enough surface area to breathe and develop aromas. The Rona Edge red wine glass does that and nothing else — 90mm bowl diameter, 225mm tall, 520ml capacity. No ornament, no coloured base, no unnecessary weight. Just enough glass to serve properly.
520ml is larger than white wine for good reason: red wine benefits from more air exposure. The wider 90mm bowl (compared to 85mm on the white wine glass) gives more surface area without making the glass look unwieldy. At 225mm tall, it has presence without dominating the table. The weight (again, lightweight one-piece construction) means servers can carry them easily, and the thermal properties mean the wine stays at serving temperature longer than in a heavier, heat-conducting glass.
The laser-treated rims are the same as the rest of the Edge collection — a treatment that hardens the rim against the chipping that normally happens first (bottle contact, cutlery, the occasional hard clink). In restaurants and bars that serve wine as a standard glass, not an occasion, this means you're replacing glasses on a breakage schedule, not every six months due to rim degradation.
