Why this bowl earns its place
A 6oz serving dish is small—120 mm wide, 30 mm deep. It's purpose-built for portioning: one portion of sauce, a small serving of sides, or a shared dish on a table of two. The duck egg blue glaze is hand-dipped, so every piece has its own tonal variation; paired with the minimal straight sides, that variation reads as character, not defect.
The dish is shallow enough to let food sit flat and visible. A piece of fish sits neatly; a quenelle of ice cream or sorbet shows properly. Six ounces (roughly 170 ml) is intimate—it's not for bulk; it's for careful plating. Porcelain fired to high temperature resists wear, but hand-dipped reactive glaze can be thinner at the rim than plain white, so stack these with care between services.
The contemporary shape works across fine dining and casual sharing menus. Duck egg is an accent colour—use two or three in a cover to add colour without overwhelming the plate. It photographs well and signals that this restaurant has thought about tableware.
