Why this plate earns its place
The 160mm is the smallest working plate in a formal service — bread plate, side course, palette-cleanser between mains. Small plates turn over fast and stack densely in the pass; bone china's advantage here is both durability and the detail it signals. A diner will notice whether the side plate feels substantial or hollow.
Bone china resists rim chipping better than alternatives. At this size, stacking is tight and edges take impact — on ticket rails, in the pass, during clearing. The glaze is hard and doesn't crack or craze, and the plate won't yellow or cloud from dishwasher cycles. That stability matters when you're running twelve per turn in a single service.
All twelve pack efficiently into standard racks. Freezer-safe and dishwasher-safe at 65 °C, so no hand-washing extra labour.
