Why this platter earns its place
The rectangular platter is the working tool for a sharing menu or an oven-service plate—pasta bowl, gratinée, or communal starter moving from kitchen to table still at heat. The 369 mm length gives enough width for two hands to work around a dish, and the coupe well that slopes to nothing at the edges lets you slide a fork underneath without the plate tipping. Dudson's Plum glaze is a deep reddish stoneware tone, fired matte, so it sits warmth against white linens without gloss.
Stoneware's thermal mass holds +200 °C food stable. You can plate straight from the pass, and the plate won't thermal-shock. The glazed surface means no staining from tomato or wine reductions—they rinse clean because water won't penetrate. The rectangular body stacks neatly in both stacks (plate on plate) and in bus tubs (side by side), so service and clearing moves without fumble. Six plates in the pack sizes a two-service restaurant or a larger café needing hot-plate service but not industrial turnover.
Dishwasher-safe, though the deep glaze does show water spots if dried slowly. A quick towel or air-dry on a rack keeps them spotless. The matte glaze doesn't show micro-scratches the way a bright glaze does, so they stay looking new through years of use.
