Why this plate earns its place
The Raku collection draws from Japanese ceramic traditions, here scaled to a statement format. At 311 mm, these plates function as show plates for composed plating with breathing room or as oversized mains plates where plating narrative runs across the full surface.
Porcelain construction at 0.96 kg sits at the heavy end of commercial gauge, translating to a solid heft that reads as finesse on the table. The jade green glaze cures with the body in the kiln — there is no applied finish to chip or separate. Triangular geometry gives this size particular presence: a triangle at 311 mm occupies visual space without the circular plate's suggestion of generality.
Stacking is tight for a plate this size. The factory pack of six (half the standard twelve) suits operations with smaller service footprints or venues that rotate through multiple plate sizes per service. All Raku triangles stack compatibly, so a 229 mm alongside a 311 mm occupies predictable shelf space. Dishwasher cycles present no structural risk — weight and porcelain both handle 80–90 °C standard commercial wash.
