Why this plate earns its place
The dinner plate is where plating happens under volume and time constraint. It has to hold a full service, stack reliably under pressure, and survive the passthrough wash every night. The Homespun range delivers commercial durability with a deliberate aesthetic: underglaze printing and a hand-applied edge band in stone grey, a neutral that works across any menu without competing with what sits on it.
At 260 mm across with a 10 mm rim depth, the plate offers the working surface most chefs expect for plating mains. The coupe profile — gently curved rather than sharp-sided — sheds water efficiently in the dishwasher and stacks flat without nesting, so storage is tight and predictable. Porcelain is the standard workhorse in volume kitchens: it resists thermal shock from rapid cycling, stays smooth through hundreds of washes, and doesn't harbour bacteria in surface cracks. The 10 mm rim is substantial enough to absorb the occasional impact without chipping immediately.
The 5-year edge chip warranty covers manufacturing defects from the mould. Breakage under service pressure is a consumable expense: a 12-pack provides active working stock with a 2–3 pack reserve for rotation through wear and damage.
