The plates use Churchill's super-vitrified ceramic body, described as resistant to moisture absorption and capable of strong heat retention. High resistance to thermal shock helps minimise breakages, and the body is made to meet the British Standards Institute's BS 4034 for food service tableware according to the manufacturer.
