Why this plate earns its place
The 23 cm plate is the primary plate size in commercial plating—large enough for a composed main with protein, starch, and vegetable arranged with space and intention, without the weight and fragility of ceramic. Melamine handles the pressure: plates are plated, served, cleared, returned to the dishwasher, and back on the pass inside one full service cycle. Melamine doesn't chip at the rim (where ceramic losses accumulate), doesn't crack under thermal shock from hot dishwasher intake, and costs a fraction of what ceramic replacement demands.
The sea glaze is engineered as a neutral frame—sophisticated enough to support fine plating, but warm enough that it doesn't cool the appearance of food the way pure white or grey finishes do. The textured finish hides the micromarking that comes from cutlery use across hundreds of services, so plates stay looking fresh even under daily heavy use.
