Why this plate earns its place
A 220mm round coupe plate sized for desserts, starters, and small courses in contemporary service. The Stonecast Raw collection draws from raw materials and stripped-back design — each plate carries a hand-applied rustic edge band that reads as crafted without labour cost. The coupe profile (rim drops straight, no flanged edge) is stronger at impact than a flat plate; the rim is less likely to chip when plates rest in the stack.
Porcelain holds heat through service and resists chipping better than earthenware. The semi-matte Vellum glaze survives repeated passthrough wash cycles at commercial temperatures without dulling or yellowing. Round profile stacks efficiently — 220mm coupes interlock without the geometric constraints of angular plates. At 220mm the plate suits dessert courses, amuse-bouches, and light starters on a two-plate cover without visual imbalance.
The teal provides colour weight; the hand-applied edge band reads as design refinement, and minor wear complements rather than detracts from contemporary plating aesthetics.
