Why this oriental spoon earns its place
The oval bowl of these spoons is proportioned for soups rather than dry foods. The 125 mm length is shorter than Western soup spoons, which is deliberate: it matches the closer eating distance and smaller hand movements of chopstick-and-spoon dining where the diner works directly over the bowl. This size also means they store compactly and pack more per place setting.
Porcelain is the right material here. It doesn't absorb broth or sauce, so flavours don't bleed from one service to the next. It also cools quickly after leaving the dishwasher, unlike metal or some ceramics, which means faster turnover during a busy service.
They're white throughout, so any residue or staining is immediately visible — a practical signal to kitchen staff to adjust their wash cycle if needed. The 24-pack sizing is deliberate: enough to cover a full table's place settings with spares for wear or breakage, without vastly exceeding what a standard dishwasher can handle in one cycle.
