Ice Machines & Dispensers

An ice machine (or ice maker) is commercial equipment that freezes and harvests ice automatically, giving pubs, cafes, hotels, restaurants and care homes a continuous supply for drinks, displays and food safety without buying bagged ice. This hub covers cube and flake ice makers, drink and ice dispensers, coffee machines and hot drinks equipment, and the bins and accessories that keep them running.

Ice Machines & Dispensers — FAQs

What’s the difference between an ice machine and an ice dispenser?

An ice machine manufactures ice from a water supply; an ice dispenser (or ice & water dispenser) stores and serves ice that’s already been made, often alongside chilled water, and is usually front-of-house facing rather than back-of-house.

Do I need a plumbed-in or gravity-fed ice machine?

Plumbed-in machines connect directly to mains water and a drain for continuous, hands-free operation and are the standard for busy bars and kitchens; gravity-fed models are manually filled and suit lower-volume sites or locations without nearby plumbing.
