It gives the outfeed side a defined 700mm run, so the table can be specified to the machine and the direction of travel rather than improvised around whatever space is left in the wash-up area.
The dimensions are the useful numbers to check on plan: 700mm wide, 750mm deep and 900mm high. At 36kg net weight, it is a substantial matching table component rather than a light accessory, and the bottom shelf gives useful under-table space without changing the stated footprint.
