Why this detergent earns its place
Suma Star-Plus D1 is Diversey's hand dishwashing liquid for professional kitchens — the everyday workhorse for washing pots, pans, crockery, glassware and everything else that isn't going through a machine. It's built on a concentrated blend of anionic and non-ionic surfactants, chosen to cut through grease and dried-on food efficiently while still rinsing away cleanly, leaving glassware and crockery streak-free rather than filmy.
It's designed to be used with the Divermite Plus dispenser (sold separately, item code GC389), which controls dosing accurately rather than leaving staff to eyeball how much to add to a sink. That accuracy matters for two things: reducing product waste from overdosing, and keeping cleaning results consistent regardless of who's on the pot wash that day.
Because the formula is highly concentrated, it needs less storage space per wash than a standard dishwashing liquid, and it's supplied in a flexible pouch format built to fit the Divermite dispensing system directly, so there's no decanting or measuring by hand. The neutral pH and stable lather help it keep working consistently across a long pot-wash shift rather than fading out partway through.
COSHH: six habits of safe chemical use
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health — the routine every commercial kitchen and cleaning cupboard is expected to run.

SDS
Read the label and the manufacturer’s safety data sheet — the pictograms tell you what you are holding.

Who could be harmed, and how badly? Judge likelihood against severity before anyone opens the cap.

Eliminate or substitute first, engineer and organise next — PPE is the last line, never the first.

Keep the controls working: check ventilation, dosing equipment and storage stay as they should be.

Everyone who uses it knows the hazards, the correct dilution and the PPE — before the first shift, not after.

Products and processes change. Reassess when they do, and keep the record that proves it.
