Why this washing powder earns its place
Horizon Biological Laundry Detergent is an industrial-strength washing powder built for commercial laundry loads rather than domestic washing. Being a biological formula, it contains enzymes that specifically target and break down organic stains – food, grease and bodily fluids – the kind of soiling that's routine in hospitality, care and catering laundry but that ordinary detergent struggles with.
It's suitable for use in all commercial washing machines and carries a slight perfume, and beyond stain removal it's formulated to prevent whites from greying over repeated wash cycles – a common problem with high-volume laundry where linen goes through the machine constantly.
A 6.3kg pack delivers approximately 90 washes, giving a good run of loads before restocking, which matters for any laundry operation trying to keep consistent detergent in stock. As with any biological powder, it is irritating to eyes and skin, so standard handling precautions apply when measuring and loading it.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health — the routine every commercial kitchen and cleaning cupboard is expected to run.

Read the label and the manufacturer’s safety data sheet — the pictograms tell you what you are holding.

Who could be harmed, and how badly? Judge likelihood against severity before anyone opens the cap.

Eliminate or substitute first, engineer and organise next — PPE is the last line, never the first.

Keep the controls working: check ventilation, dosing equipment and storage stay as they should be.

Everyone who uses it knows the hazards, the correct dilution and the PPE — before the first shift, not after.

Products and processes change. Reassess when they do, and keep the record that proves it.
