Why this detergent earns its place
Greenspeed's biological laundry powder is built around a vegetable-based formula that's genuinely effective against grease, protein and starch-based stains even in low-temperature washes – useful for cutting energy costs on the laundry round without giving up on stain removal. It's suitable for both white and colourfast laundry in cotton or synthetic fabrics, and cleans hygienically across domestic and semi-industrial machines alike.
It contains no optical brighteners, which makes it kinder to skin as well as the environment, relying instead on oxygen-based bleaching agents to lift stains and keep whites looking properly clean rather than artificially brightened. Descaling agents in the formula also help prevent limescale building up inside the washing machine over time, protecting the equipment as well as the laundry.
The formula is free from chlorine, halogen compounds, phosphates and petroleum-based detergents, has low aquatic toxicity, and is biodegradable to international standards – it's also septic-tank safe, which matters for sites not on mains drainage. It's made in a factory powered by renewable energy, and finishes with a light floral perfume rather than a heavy fragrance.
COSHH: six habits of safe chemical use
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health — the routine every commercial kitchen and cleaning cupboard is expected to run.

SDS
Read the label and the manufacturer’s safety data sheet — the pictograms tell you what you are holding.

Who could be harmed, and how badly? Judge likelihood against severity before anyone opens the cap.

Eliminate or substitute first, engineer and organise next — PPE is the last line, never the first.

Keep the controls working: check ventilation, dosing equipment and storage stay as they should be.

Everyone who uses it knows the hazards, the correct dilution and the PPE — before the first shift, not after.

Products and processes change. Reassess when they do, and keep the record that proves it.
