Why this ice cube machine earns its place
The DC70-40A D takes the same self-contained cube-ice platform as its gravity-drain sibling and adds a factory-fitted drain pump — the single feature that lets you site an ice machine where the floor gully doesn't reach. Basement bars, island bars, mezzanine kitchens, refurb projects where core-drilling a waste run isn't on the table: the pump pushes meltwater up to a wall outlet or raised standpipe, and the machine sits where the workflow demands it.
Seventy kilograms of crystalline cubes per 24 hours (21 °C / 15 °C), 40 kg integrated bin, propane (R290) refrigerant, limescale-inhibiting evaporator plates, self-clean cycle — all identical to the gravity-drain DC70-40A. The pump is the difference: a compact condensate-style pump mounted internally, wired to the machine's control board, activated automatically when the internal reservoir hits its trigger level. One gravity waste in becomes one pumped waste out — 10 mm hose to a 1–2 m head, typical for a wall box or raised gully.
Stainless cabinet, ABS food-safe bin, front-access everything. The pump doesn't change the footprint or the service access. It does change the install spec: you need a fused spur for the machine (the pump draws minimal current but it's on the same supply), and you plan a pumped waste route instead of a fall. In a basement bar, that's the difference between "it fits" and "it doesn't."
