Why this heated display earns its place
The CED Designline HDL3 is built for the assisted-service deli counter where presentation and food safety are both non-negotiable. The elliptical design and curved full-height glass create an inviting shop-window effect that draws the customer eye; this isn't background equipment, it's a sales tool. It drops into a pre-formed countertop cut-out (1175mm wide, 660mm deep), integrating seamlessly into high-end deli and prepared-food layouts without any external awkwardness.
The real sophistication is in the thermal engineering. The main well holds three full gastronorm pans on a stainless steel heated surface inclined for perfect customer viewing. Below that, an adjustable mid-shelf at eye level provides additional hot merchandising space—ideal for featuring a special, rotating stock, or creating visual theatre around seasonal items. Both zones run independently: factory-set to hold food at 85°C but fully adjustable via digital display, with dimmer switches on the operator side so you control the ambience and heat without customers seeing the mechanics. The elliptical polished steel gantry houses infra-red quartz heat lamps that illuminate food from above, bringing colour and appetite-appeal to pre-cooked items.
Everything about the Designline is designed for easy operation and cleaning. The front glass tilts forward on a locking hinge, so you can access the well and shelves without dismantling anything. The modular heater mat elements under the well ensure even heat distribution—critical for food safety—and the stainless steel presentation surface is simple to wipe clean, especially important if you're displaying delicate pastry work or soft cheeses. It runs 24 hours a day at holding temperature, and comes with a lifting kit for installation and a 2-metre power lead with concealed control box. At 102 kg, it's a proper piece of equipment built for busy deli operations.
