Why this ambient display earns its place
The Designline ambient display is the refined alternative to basic rectangular gantries. It shares the proven Kubus self-service design—holding four 1/1 gastronorm containers with minimal power draw—but wraps it in the elliptical curved profile that defines CED's premium aesthetic. Polished aluminium and steel construction gives it presence on any servery counter, and the curved glass sneeze screen is part of that visual story: it's shaped for sightlines and aesthetics, so customers see the product, not their own reflection.
At 1500 mm wide and just 377 mm deep, it's a shallow footprint—an advantage in compact kitchen layouts where counter depth is at a premium. It doesn't protrude as far as deeper units, leaving more space for customer interaction at the counter edge. Diffused lighting illuminates the display evenly without glare, and the 100 W power draw is minimal. It plugs into a standard socket; there's no special wiring needed. At 17 kg, it's among the lightest displays in the range and simple to install or relocate with post-fixing bolts included.
The light switch is positioned at the end of the gantry for convenient access. Like all ambient displays, it's ideal for room-temperature products—there's no heating element—so it works perfectly for bakeries, chippies, and cafés where visibility, aesthetics, and efficiency matter equally.
