Why this prep station earns its place
A gantry table earns its keep by giving you more than one work surface without eating more floor space, and that's exactly what this Holmes table is built to do. The main surface is a robust, hygienic 304 stainless steel worktop — the same grade you want anywhere food is actually being prepared — welded and finished in satin for a surface that wipes clean and doesn't hold onto grease or bacteria in seams.
Above it, the gantry adds a raised laydown and storage area, so plated food, prep boards or ingredients waiting their turn have somewhere to sit that isn't the main cutting surface. Below, a full stainless steel undershelf gives you a second tier for trays, containers or kit you want close to hand but off the counter. Between the two, you get genuinely more usable space than a flat table of the same footprint.
The whole thing sits on a sturdy stainless steel structure with fully adjustable feet, which matters more than it sounds on an older kitchen floor that's never quite level — you can dial the table until it sits flat rather than propping a beer mat under one corner. At 1800mm wide, 600mm deep and 900mm high, it gives a full-length prep run, and at 23.5kg it's substantial enough to stay put once it's positioned.
