THE WORKING VIEW

Why this commercial sink earns its place

The Combisteel 500×500 Sink is the workhorse of commercial kitchens. At 500 mm square, it gives you genuine depth — 300 mm — for proper washing and soaking of equipment, pans, produce or prep. Not a shallow lip sink; this is a real basin that fills without spilling over and holds water for cleaning jobs that actually take time.

AISI 304 stainless steel is the standard choice in commercial food preparation for one simple reason: it works. It resists the corrosion that destroys cheaper steel, it doesn't stain under normal kitchen use, and it's completely food-safe. You can put this sink on a stainless table, bolt it under a counter, or sit it on a mobile base — it's built to fit into whatever prep arrangement you're designing, and it will not deteriorate under the daily assault of kitchen life.

The weight is kept reasonable at just 7 kg, so assembly and repositioning aren't wrestling matches. Because it's a sink basin rather than an integrated table, you have the flexibility to mount it where it makes sense for your workflow — right next to the prep area, centralized near the dishwashing station, or wherever dirty water needs to go. That modular approach has made Combisteel sinks the choice for everything from permanent kitchen builds to mobile catering operations.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

AISI 304 is food-grade stainless that resists corrosion from food acids, salt and regular kitchen chemicals. Cheaper steel will stain, pit and eventually rust under the same conditions. For a sink that sits in a damp environment taking daily wear, 304 stainless is the sensible choice.

Yes. The flat rim and simple basin design mean you can bolt it from below through the worktop, weld it into a table frame, or sit it on top of a prep surface. Whatever your build needs, you can work with this.

300 mm — deep enough that you can actually submerge a mixing bowl, a stock pot, or an armful of sheet pans without water spilling. It's designed for serious wash-down work, not just rinsing.

AISI 304 stainless is naturally resistant to staining and discolouration. Water marks and minor surface marks can happen (any stainless sink shows these), but they wipe away with a cloth. You won't see permanent staining or rust marks like you would in a carbon steel sink.

Completely. Wipe or rinse after use, maybe a quick scrub with a stainless steel brush if you're moving heavy produce around. No special treatment needed. The non-porous surface means food residue won't get trapped in crevices.

It arrives as a complete basin — there's no assembly required. Just unpack it, position it where it needs to go, and secure it according to your mounting method (bolts, welding, or simply sitting it on a table work surface).
