Why this microwave shelve earns its place
A commercial microwave needs somewhere solid to sit, and the KWC DVS microwave shelf is built specifically for that job rather than adapted from general shelving. It's made from 1.2mm thick grade 304 stainless steel — the same grade used across commercial kitchens for its strength and corrosion resistance — so it copes with the weight and vibration of a microwave running service after service.
At 600mm wide and 500mm deep, it's sized to take standard commercial microwave footprints, and it's fitted on triangular wall brackets that spread the load properly rather than relying on a single fixing point. Two fixing holes give it a solid connection to the wall, and the shelf can either sit supported from underneath or hang directly from the brackets, depending on how the kitchen's laid out.
There's a 20mm gap left behind the shelf once it's fitted, which is there deliberately — enough room to route a power cable behind the unit instead of it trailing across the worktop. Fixing instructions are included, along with two nuts and bolts, though screws and plugs for the wall itself aren't supplied, so it's worth matching those to your wall type before installing.
