THE WORKING VIEW

Why this commercial kitchen shelving earns its place

This is the standard ingredient and equipment shelf you see in every professional kitchen. Four levels spanning 1800 mm height means you're using vertical space smartly — ingredient storage, prepped items, small equipment, overflow from the main counters. The 900 mm width is the working width for a kitchen layout; 450 mm depth sits neatly behind a prep counter without jutting into walkways.

Chromed steel is the commercial kitchen standard because it's durable, lightweight and wipes clean. The chrome finish resists rust and surface damage better than bare steel, and it handles the ambient moisture every kitchen throws at it — steam, condensation, the odd splash from washdown. Four shelves gives you flexible spacing: pack items tight on some levels, space out heavier equipment on others. The flat-packed design means you assemble it once, bolt it to the wall or stand, and it holds solid without racking or flexing under load.

At 20 kg per unit, it's sturdy without being unwieldy. Build two or three side by side and you've got a full wall of ingredient and equipment storage. The open-frame design lets you see what's where, no dark cupboards hiding forgotten stock.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Yes. Chromed steel shelves are rated for typical commercial kitchen loads — cases of ingredients, prep stock, small equipment. Don't treat it as a forklift racking system, but it handles the daily load of an active kitchen without sagging or flex.

The four levels span 1800 mm, so each gap is roughly 450 mm — enough to stack prep containers, ingredient boxes or smaller equipment without squashing items on the shelf below. You can adjust spacing slightly during assembly if you need tighter or looser intervals.

It's an open frame — no back panel. That means easy access from both sides, good visibility of stock, and it doesn't collect dust in corners. If you need to stabilise it against a wall, it bolts to the wall studs.

Chromed steel keeps its rigidity. When assembled and bolted (either to the wall or weighted at the base), it sits solid. Don't expect any flex or movement during normal loading and unloading.

Both options work. Wall-mounting (bolted to studs) is the standard — it's solid and saves floor space. It can freestand if weighted and levelled, but wall-mounting is the safer, preferred setup in active kitchens.

Flat-packed assembly typically takes 45–60 minutes with a drill and spanner set. Bolts and fixings are included. Instructions are straightforward — it's a simple frame-and-shelf build with no special tools needed.
