Why this high bar stool earns its place
There's a lot to like about a stool that doesn't ask for special treatment. The Origin Base stool keeps its design deliberately simple — clean lines, a minimalist shape, finished in traffic white — so it sits comfortably in almost any décor, from a stripped-back café to a busy terrace, without fighting the rest of the room for attention.
It's made entirely from polypropylene, frame and seat both, and built from over 50% post-industrial recycled plastic — a material choice that gives it real durability for long-lasting daily use as well as a lower environmental footprint than a lot of the alternatives. That construction also keeps it light: at 3kg each, staff can move it around single-handed between layouts without a second thought, and when service is over it stacks vertically, so a run of stools collapses down to very little floor space.
Origin rate it for indoor and outdoor use, which suits it to the reality of most venues, where the same seating often needs to work on a terrace one day and inside the next. It's sold as a pack of two, sized at 430mm wide, 430mm deep and 650mm high, and comes with a 5-year warranty behind it.
