Why this high bar stool earns its place
The Bristol takes its cue from Parisian shabby chic: a retro-industrial cross-back silhouette softened by a weathered oak-finish rubber wood frame, so it reads as characterful rather than corporate. It's the kind of stool that carries a bar run on its own without needing anything else on the shopfloor to make it feel considered.
Underneath the styling is a chair built to work. The frame is solid rubber wood, finished in weathered oak, standing 1180mm tall on a 440 x 440mm footprint and weighing 10kg — substantial enough to sit still under daily use, light enough to move for cleaning or a reset of the floor plan. Craven's manufacturer states it's built for contract use, specifically to endure high-traffic environments without the wobble or wear that cheaper stools develop within a season.
Comfort comes from an added seat pad in Shetland Smoke fabric — a soft grey that takes the edge off a full wood seat and gives customers a reason to linger rather than perch. It's an indoor piece only, so it belongs behind glass or under a roof rather than on a beer garden.
