Why this sidechair earns its place
The Marty A takes a different approach to the Bia line: a smart slatted back design in place of an upholstered back pad, paired here with an oak-toned frame and a red faux leather seat. It's a timeless, sturdier-looking silhouette that suits dining spaces looking for something a step more traditional than a full colour-block chair, while still carrying the same contract construction underneath.
The frame is solid wood, chosen for strength as much as appearance, and built to a structurally contract-grade standard rather than a domestic one — the slatted back adds visual lightness without giving up the sturdy support the range is built around. At 870 × 440 × 510 mm and 7 kg, it's slightly more compact than the Bia A side chairs but built for the same pace of daily commercial use: pulled out, sat in, and pushed back repeatedly through a service.
Only the seat is upholstered here, in a faux leather designed to replicate the look and feel of genuine leather. It's easy to wipe clean after a spill and is fully CRIB5 fire-retardant to contract grade, meeting the standard expected of seating in high-traffic commercial rooms — while the slatted wood back stays low-maintenance by simply being wood.
