The Marty A is the side-chair end of the Bolero Bespoke range, and the anthracite and walnut colourway is the quieter of its finishes — a grey faux leather seat against a warm walnut-toned wood frame, with a smart slatted back that keeps the look tidy rather than fussy. It's built for dining rooms that want something a step above generic contract seating without tipping into anything showy.
Underneath the finish it's a properly built chair. The frame is solid wood, selected for strength as much as looks, and put together to contract-grade standard — meaning it's made to take the knocks of a working restaurant floor rather than an occasional-use dining room. At 870mm tall, 440mm wide and 510mm deep, and a gross weight of 7kg, it sits comfortably at a standard table without feeling flimsy underhand when staff are resetting the room.
The seat pad is where the practical thinking shows.
