Hardwood is the whole point here. It's selected for strength as much as looks, and the frame is structurally suitable for contract use — built to take the daily wear of a working restaurant or hotel dining room, not just an occasional-use dining chair pressed into commercial service. At 870mm high, 430mm wide and 490mm deep, and 7kg, it has the proportions of a proper side chair: substantial enough to feel right at a table, light enough to move when you're resetting a room.
