Why this table earns its place
Gopak built this as a straightforward, sturdy dining table for rooms that need to seat groups rather than couples. At 1400mm wide and 750mm deep, it's a rectangular top sized to seat 6, making it the table you reach for when a booking is a group rather than a two-top — a shared table for a family, a work lunch, or a group of friends who want to sit together rather than across two smaller tables pushed apart.
The frame is aluminium, a material choice that matters more than it might look on a spec sheet: it's strong enough to carry the table's footprint and daily use, while staying lighter than a steel or solid timber frame equivalent, and it resists the rust that a painted steel frame can develop over years of mopping and spills around the base. The tabletop is finished in a beech effect, giving it a warm, familiar timber look for the dining room without the cost or the care regime of solid wood.
At 710mm high, it sits at the standard dining table height that ordinary chairs and stools are built around, so it drops straight into an existing floor plan without needing chairs specified to match it. It's a self-assembly table — some construction on site — and at 19.5kg it's manageable for one or two people to build and position without specialist lifting kit. It's built for indoor use.
